چکیده
This paper presents the use of a finite element method (FEM) to analyze shear lag effect due flexure beams with an arbitrary cross-section and homogeneous elastic material. Beams are constrained by most common types supports, such as fixed, pinned, roller. The transverse, concentrated, or distributed loads act on through center cross-section. presented FEM transforms 3D analysis phenomenon into separated 2D cross-sectional 1D beam modeling. characteristics firstly derived from FEM, which uses 9-node isoparametric element. Then, linear element, is developed compute deflection, rotation angle, bending warping parameter, stress resultants. Finally, field obtained local 2D-cross section. A MATLAB program executed validate numerical method. validation examples have proven efficiency reliability for analyzing flexure, problem in structural design.

This paper aims at presenting a new efficient element for free vibration and instability analysis of Axially Functionally Graded Materials (FGMs) non-prismatic beams using Finite Element Method (FEM). Using concept of Basic Displacement Functions (BDFs), two- node element extends to three-node element for obtaining much more exact results using FEM. First, BDFs are introduced and computed usin...

The non-orthogonal boundary-fitted coordinate transformation method is applied to the solution of steady three-dimensional momentum and energy equations in laminar flow to obtain temperature field and Nusselt numbers in the thermal entry region of straight ducts of different cross sectional geometries. The conservation equations originally written in Cartesian coordinates are parabolized in the...

This study deals with the applications of a trigonometric shear deformation theory considering the effect of the transverse shear deformation on the static flexural analysis of the soft core sandwich beams. The theory gives realistic variation of the transverse shear stress through the thickness, and satisfies the transverse shear stress free conditions at the top and bottom surfaces of the bea...
